Fall leaves on the street

In the past few weeks, the leaves on the maple tree in front of the neighbor’s house have been a vibrant orange and yellow, but that tree is now casually shedding its leaves. Today I finished painting some leaves as they look laying on the road. While walking the dogs, I gathered a few of the leaves from the neighbor’s tree and traced them onto my watercolor paper to get the shapes right. I also used some of those leaves to get a better sense for color value or hue, or whatever, and recognize how the veins can be lighter than rest of the leaf.
